Overview
Our company’s electromagnetic flowmeters are manufactured in compliance with the Chinese national standard “JG-1033-2007 Electromagnetic Flowmeters.” These instruments are inductive devices used to measure the volumetric flow rate of conductive media. While providing on-site monitoring and display, they can also output standard current signals for recording, adjustment, and control purposes, enabling automated detection and control. Furthermore, these flowmeters support long-distance signal transmission. They are widely applicable for measuring the flow rates of conductive liquids in industries such as tap water supply, chemical engineering, coal mining, environmental protection, light and textile manufacturing, metallurgy, and papermaking.
Working principle
The electromagnetic flowmeter operates on the principle of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction: when a conductive object moves through a magnetic field, cutting across magnetic field lines, an induced electromotive force is generated in the conductor. The magnitude of this induced electromotive force E is given by:
E = KBdV
The flow rate Q is:
Q = 3600 × V × S
In the formula:

S—Cross-sectional area inside the catheter (m²)
When measuring flow rate, a conductive liquid flows at velocity V through a magnetic field that is perpendicular to the direction of flow. The motion of the conductive liquid induces a voltage that is directly proportional to the average flow velocity. This induced voltage signal is detected by electrodes that are in direct contact with the liquid. For a given flow meter, since S, B, and d are constants, the flow rate is directly proportional to the magnitude of the induced electromotive force E (or the flow velocity V).
Product Features
1. The measuring tube contains no moving parts, making maintenance and management convenient; there are no flow-obstructing components, so there is no pressure loss.
2. The minimum conductivity of the liquid to be measured is ≥30 μS/cm. Coupled with various liner materials, this instrument is suitable for measuring the flow rate of a wide range of media, including acidic, alkaline, and saline solutions as well as slurries, mineral slurries, and pulp.
3. The measurement of flow rate is unaffected by changes in the fluid’s density, viscosity, temperature, pressure, and electrical conductivity; the sensor detects a voltage signal.
4. It has a linear relationship with the average flow velocity and boasts high measurement accuracy.
5. By appropriately selecting lining and electrode materials, excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance can be achieved.
6. Low-frequency rectangular wave excitation is unaffected by power frequency and various stray interferences present on-site, ensuring stable and reliable operation.
7. It is unaffected by the fluid direction and can accurately measure flow in both forward and reverse directions.
8. Measurement range ratio: 1:30 (0.5 m/s – 15 m/s), with a wide full-scale flow velocity range.
9. The LCD backlight display for Chinese characters allows online parameter modification and features simple, convenient operation. 10. It is equipped with empty-tube detection and alarm functions and can adapt to various fluid media.
